The GWR HST Farewell Saturday 18 May.

HST Power Car 43172 "Harry Patch last survivorof the trenches" with 43162 "Exeter Panel Signal Box 21st Anniversary 2009" on the rear, arrives at 10.39 into Platform 1 at London Paddington with 1A10 the service from Exeter St Davids .

Waiting in Platform 2 at London Paddington is HST Power Car 43198 "Driver Stan Martin 25 June 1950 - 6 November 2004" on the left side and "Driver Brian Cooper 15 June 1947 - 5 October 1999" on the right,who both lost their lives in the Ufton Nervet and Ladbroke Grove accidents respectively with 1B25 the 10.45 service to Swansea. Adjacent in Platform 1 is 43162 "Exeter Panel Signal Box 21st Anniversary 2009" .

HST Power Car 43093 "Old Oak Common HST Depot 1976 - 2018" with 43188 "Geraint Thomas Flying Welshman Winner of the Tour de France 2018" on the front is waiting in Platform 4 at London Paddington with 1C15 the 13.00 service to Bristol Temple Meads. Several members of the Marlow and District Railway Society travelled on this service .

On loan from the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Steam Railway, GWR 2-8-0 pannier tank 4270 is waiting at North Weald for its next departure, with Met 1 in the adjacent platform .

The only home-based locomotive on the line is "Isabel" a Hawthorne Leslie 0-6-0 Saddle Tank which was supposed to have been operating Brake Van trips between North Weald and Epping, but had developen a fault, and so was replaced by an 03 Diesel Shunter .

Following the failure of "Isabel" a Hawthorne Leslie 0-6-0 Saddle Tank, the Brake Van trips between North Weald and Epping, were performed by an 03 Diesel Shunter No 03170 .

The US Army 5197, a S160 2-8-0 built by Lima in 1945, and normally based at Cheddleton, approaches its Ongar bound train at North Weald. In the background is a 1938 Tube stock car, whilst the DMU vehicle beyond Peak D22 is W56287 one of the Driving Trailers that was regularly used on the "Marlow Donkey" .

Because there is no EOR Station at Epping, a Heritage bus service is provided between Epping London Underground Station, North Weald and Shenfield. On the 8th June this was being worked by two RT's, nos RT2150 and RT3871 and Routemaster RMA11,ome of those built for BEA services between Central London and Heathrow Airport. Here are RT2150 and RMA11 parked on North Weald Station Forecourt, waiting for passengers .
