Welcome to the Marlow & District Railway Society

Founded in 1977, we are a group of railway enthusiasts based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and with members from as far afield as the USA.
Our activities include regular monthly meetings at the Bourne End Community Centre We also publish our own illustrated magazine The Marlow Donkey. Meetings are open to non-members, but why not join us? Click here to open the application form.

Our next public meeting will be on Thursday 21st May 2026 at 7:30pm. when Tom Burnham will give a talk on "The Kent & East Sussex Railway Past, Present & Future".
The K&ESR was one of the first railways to be worked under the Light Railways Act of 1896. It closed to passengers in 1954 and to goods in 1961, but a small band of enthusiasts succeeded in reopening it from Tenterden to Bodiam between 1974 and 2000. Work is actively in progress on the "missing link" to the national network at Robertsbridge.
